Unblock Netflix on PlayStation 3
Tutorial: How to unblock Netflix on PlayStation 3 using a VPN/DNS provider
Note: This tutorial assumes you have already signed up for a Netflix account. If that is not the case, please subscribe to Netflix and download the PlayStation 3 Netflix app before continuing.
Find a VPN/DNS Service
When unblocking Netflix, the first thing to do is locate a suitable VPN/DNS service and (if necessary) sign up for it. Due to the instability of the PlayStation 3 browser, this is best achieved through another device.
Some subscription services, such as the widely used Unblock-Us, will require you to sign up with an email address and pay a subscription fee. Other services may offer their services for free, without a sign up process. Either way, once you have located your service, you should be provided with two different 10-digit DNS server numbers.
For example, the DNS numbers are:
- Primary: 208.122.23.23
- Secondary: 208.122.23.22

Setup
- Turn on your PlayStation 3 and from the main menu, scroll along to ‘Settings’, then scroll down to ‘Network Settings’ and press X on the controller.
- Scroll down to ‘Internet Connection Settings’, press X on the controller, then select ‘OK’ when the next message appears.
- Move down to ‘Custom’ and scroll to the right on the controller, then continue to press to the right, leaving all settings exactly as they are, until you reach ‘DNS Settings’. Highlight ‘Manual’, then scroll to the right again.
- Write down the numbers that appear on the screen and keep them safe. These are your current settings and may be needed it you ever wish to revert back to them.
- Replace the ‘Primary DNS’ and ‘Secondary DNS’ numbers with the numbers you were provided with. Then scroll right until you are asked to check the connection. Do so and save the settings.
Watching Netflix
- After setup is complete, before doing anything else, reset your console.
- If you used Unblock-Us, or a similar subscription service, load up the PlayStation 3’s internet browser and log in to their service through it. Follow any on-screen instructions, choose your desired Netflix region, save the settings if required, then close the browser. Ignore this step if you were simply provided with the DNS settings alone.
- Load the Netflix app and enjoy unblocked access!
